Season to Season Guide!

Florists can supply you with an amazing array of cut flowers throughout the year. It isn’t just what you’d be finding in a typical English garden; but a mouth-watering taste of the exotic! Other than the British Suppliers; flowers are regularly shipped from all over the place – from the Netherlands, Columbia, Kenya, Ethiopia, Belgium, Ecuador, Ivory Coast, South Africa, Israel, Italy & Germany.

So when I previously suggested that seasonality of flowers is not always the be all and end all – this is why! You’d be surprised by how long the markets manage to provide us with some perennials. This being said, I thought that a season to season breakdown would be useful; to give a rough guide as to what is readily available at each time.
Of course, buying flowers in their intended season does mean that you can generally get them that little bit cheaper & in a larger selection.

"There was a really great programme that was repeated this week on Channel four (catch up on iPlayer), entitled ‘The World’s Biggest Flower Market’. If you want to find out more about the Flower Industry it makes for a interesting watch!"
